Generating a M3U8 file


Before configuring Kodi we need to generate a URL with all the channels. Below is a URL generator, it generates URL based on how many hours back from Israel time you want to play the channels and you can also choose multiple timezones.
This generated URL will be used in step 11 in the Step by Step Guide below and in step 9 in the Visual Guide below.

Configure PVR IPTV Simple Client in Kodi


Configure PVR IPTV Simple Client in Kodi Step by Step Guide:

  1. Open Kodi
  2. Select SYSTEM or SETTINGS depending on your skin
  3. Select TV (or Live TV or PVR & Live TV if you are on a version lower than 15.2 and if you are then consider updating)
  4. Select General
  5. Select Enabled
  6. You will now see a pop-up saying that you have no PVR Client enabled. Select OK
  7. Scroll down and select PVR IPTV Simple Client
  8. Select Enable
  9. Select Configure
  10. In General select M3U Play List URL
  11. Add your M3U URL into the address section (you will get this from your IPTV supplier)
  12. Select OK
  13. Select OK again
  14. Reboot Kodi
  15. On your Home Screen you should now see TV (or Live TV if on an older version of Kodi). Open that to see the live channel list
  16. The list should look like this. Select a channel for it to load and play

The PVR Simple Client should now be setup with live tv streams available.


Configure PVR IPTV Simple Client in Kodi Visual Guide:

  1. Open Kodi
  2. Highlight TV

  3. Select Enter add-on browser

  4. Select PVR IPTV Simple Client

  5. Select Configure

  6. Select General

  7. Location to Remote Path (Internet Address)

  8. Then Select M3U Play List URL

  9. Enter the URL of your M3U Play List (you will get this from your IPTV supplier) and select OK

  10. If you have an M3U text file stored locally on your network/computer/box then set the Location to Local Path (include Local Network)

  11. Then Select M3U Play List URL

  12. Navigate to where the file is stored and select it

  13. Select OK

  14. Select Enable

  15. Wait for notification of channels loaded

  16. Now when you go back to the Home Screen and select TV it shoold look like this
